Hearing about the Palm Sunday 2017 bombings in Egypt really did put a dampen on my smiles today.
Finding happiness in yourself is important. How do you find happiness? I enjoy writing my weekly What Made Me Smile list because it allows me to reflect on happy moments that I have experienced in the past week and makes me grateful for what I have in my life. Recognising gratitude is your gateway to a successful life. I am writing this on a gorgeous sunny day.
It is about time we saw some sun in London. I had a lovely picnic on the park with another mum and her toddler. We munched through sandwiches and fruit talking about motherhood when I heard of the awful news of the Palm Sunday 2017 bombings in Egypt, my home town. I have a lot of coptic Egyptian friends, so this was really sad to hear. At least 45 people lost their lives from two bomb attacks which took place at two Coptic Churches in Egypt today. My thoughts and prayers are with the families involved. Lives wasted, families destroyed, and all for what? Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and every other religion should all unite because only together we are stronger.
So my Top 5 things that made me smile this week
1- Attending a wedding of my high school friend. 24 years I waited to watch her walk down the aisle. I cried happy tears for her.
2-Seeing the sun shining today really did make me smile. I had a blast.
3-I took the tot to the Jurassic Park event which was amazing. Any mums out there should definitely pay a visit. It is a great way to spend half a day with the kids. Make a packed lunch, grab a blanket and head there from the morning. It caters for all ages.
4-Found my Home and Away buddy- Sara. Does anyone else watch the Australian soap? Yep I still watch it. It has been around for what now 30 years or so I think.
5-Playing ”eye spy” with my little tot is always fun.
What are your Easter smileys? And what are you most grateful for? Keep gratitude in your mind and preach gratitude always.
