Most mothers get pampered by others on Mothers Day. I choose to pamper myself with the company of my lovely little tot, That is how I spend Mothers Day, my way.

A mother’s love knows no bounds…
” You will have this dying love when you hold them in your arms…. it’s a feeling like no other..” Those were the types of phrases I would hear from every mum when I was pregnant. I have to say that I didn’t experience any of that when my tot was born. The guilt at the time took over and I was feeling like the worse mum ever but apparently not all mums experience this gushing feeling of love straight away and it is perfectly fine not to. For me, his pee hit me in the face before the unconditional love kicked in.
I spend every second with him, and Mothers Day will be spent will be no different. I did ask him yesterday are you writing a Mothers Day card for me at school, to which he replied “no mum I don’t need to”… Charming darling:)
I think some indulging in some afternoon tea is more up my street for Mothers Day. Some serious ingestion of scones and cakes is something I am in dire need of right now.
Can anyone suggest anywhere for some great scones and tea? Nothing too fancy, as long as the desserts are healthy bites and they do great teas, I am in.
I use Mothers Day as a day of reflection, looking back to when it all started and where I have come now. Reflection is an important part of everyday life especially when moving forward and creating new goals and aspirations. Sometimes we are too hard on ourselves when we haven’t achieved the things we want in life and forget to look back and see how far we have actually come along and that in itself is a huge achievement alone.
I believe in making realistic goals and having realistic dreams and working towards achieving them and believing it will happen. Once you believe in it, you are already half way there to achieving it.
So I have my notepad ready to hand to jot a few future plans and goals. All I need is a kick ass latte and scones to fuel my thoughts.
Yesterday it was Mothers Day in Egypt, so Happy Mothers Day to all the bodacious yummy mamas out there. We totally rock.
I shall leave it with a final saying:
”He is a piece of me, I am a piece of him, he is the only one who knows the sound of my heartbeat from the inside. As a mother you put their happiness and well-being before your own, strive to do the right things by them even when you are not sure that what you are doing is right but you are their backbone in life, you wipe their tears, you bring them joy and teach them important and valuable lessons in life. I hope he grows up to be strong, a fighter, hard-working, ambitious, caring and loving, all the things I am teaching him everyday. Our hearts will always beat together, we are one”.
He rocks my world.

Dear Sarah, loved this post so much!!
I can say that it happened to me too when my oldest son born: it wasn’t just like other mum’s said! And it made me feel so bad with myself ( ” why is this not so perfect as they said ?!” I keep asking this to myself).
The truth is that is equally hard and sweet to be a mum, right?
I do my best so they will be kind, loving and respectful human beings. I love them with all my heart. I do what it takes so they can be happy. See?! We mums are all the same!
So glad to follow you my dear !
You’re an inspiration !
Sending you love!

Thats so sweet! Its tough being a mum, not knowing that what you are doing is right or wrong and trying to make the best decisions for them. t is important to teach them the basics of being honest, kind and loving because I tell you there are a lot of dishonest men out there and don’t want my little one turning out like that:)
I may be far from being a mother for I am too young, but nonetheless, Happy Mothers Day! This post was sentimental and emotional for even someone like myself. Have a great day with your loved ones!

Aww sorry! haha Hope you had a lovely day too
This post is so beautiful. <3 When I become a mother myself one day, I would really like to use Mother's Day as a day of reflection as well. Now that I'm an adult, I feel like I've grown to have a greater appreciation for what my mother did for me.
