What Made Me Smile #14

What Made Me Smile #14

I enjoy writing my weekly What Made Me Smile list because it allows me to reflect on happy moments that I have experienced in the past week and makes me grateful for what I have in my life. It is time for my happy moments of the week.Happy moments of the week, its halloween yes

I have had an extremely busy week from parents evening, to blogging events, catching up with friends and just general day-to-day stuff. Well that day-to-day stuff  will have to take a back seat during the next week since it is half term and I am having to pre-plan events and outings so the little one doesn’t get bored or sit in front of the TV being entertained by the usual children programmes that air these days.

Tom and Jerry?

Nope, we are way more advanced now, with the likes of Paw Patrol, Shaun the Sheep and Danger Mouse hitting the screens on CBBC. I am telling you, there is a new cartoon every week, I cannot keep up, and they blame the parents for kids failing exams and not hitting government targets because let’s face it, league tables are pretty much on the top of a schools agenda list.

Anyway back to the list.

Oh but wait a second, Halloween guys! It is just around the corner and I am super excited. Stay tuned for all the excitement.

Here are my top 5 things that has made me smile this past week.

1- Me: You need to wash your hands every time you go to the toilet (angry face)

Tot: Let me think about it and get back to you. Ermm.. no I won’t wash them

Me: After trying to contain my laughter, I scream and say don’t make me repeat myself!

2- Attending parents evening and being told that the tot has settled in extremely well, is doing great in school and making lots of friends. That’s my boy

3-Enjoying a coffee morning with the lovely mums at the school. I am blessed to have such a supportive network around me and not to mention organised and super enthusiastic (maybe too enthusiastic at times judging by the 50 Whatsapp messages a day). The ringing of the bleep bleep sound is no stranger to me now.

4-Meeting another single mum at the school gates and hearing her say that she was so glad to have met me. I apparently lifted her spirits and I am just the guidance she needed! Wow! It is funny how just one moment/encounter can change your life. I am no stranger to this, from tasting Said hot chocolate for the first time and having to pinch myself to check that I wasn’t dreaming to living through one hell of a shitty divorce. We live and learn:)

5- Having dinner with the lovely Cash Carraway and mingling over the world of blogging #hardlife (believe it or not). Making it as a blogger takes a lot of perseverance, huge amount of dedication, time and effort. Sometimes just having someone else that is on your page and understands the struggle really does put things into perspective. I do this blog as a hobby and one that brings me so much joy, maybe one day I shall spread my wings and make a living out of it #goals.

So those are my happy moments of the week! What has made you appreciate life just that little bit more? Is it watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcon games? Clueless about what I am going on about? -American football and that is all I know. Or maybe it is sorting out and getting getting for halloween with buying the decorations:) Drop me a line below.
