What Made Me Smile #38

It is the Bank Holiday weekend and I am smiling from ear to ear. Finding happiness in yourself is important. How do you find happiness? I enjoy writing my weekly What Made Me Smile list because it allows me to reflect on happy moments that I have experienced in the past week and makes me grateful for what I have in my life. Recognising gratitude is your gateway to a successful and happy life. Bank Holiday weekend-MyCityMyLondon

This week feels like it has been a very long week. Who else feels very drained? And with no sunshine in London, I am yearning for sun-kissed skin, salty hair and dreaming of sipping coconut cocktails and lying on a sun bed with The Economist to hand.

I am back with my top 5 things that put a smile on my face this week. It is the Bank Holiday weekend, so lots of baking a bit of house work and lunching with my friends. Today I made my healthy protein bites for in between meal snacking ( half the batch already gone, and I say ”in between meal snacking”.  Dinner involved a minced meat curry which the tot didn’t touch and not because it didn’t tickle his taste buds but because he fancied super noodles #koolmum. A very rare occasion when I bust out the 2 minute noodles.

My top 5 What Made Me smile

1- Had a lovely coffee date with Sabrina and Arnie. A must needed catch up pleasant. ‘‘The Architect of love’‘ is a must read for your perfect relationship guide. Arnie is one amazing mum and a great inspiration to me. I feel truly blessed to have met such an inspiring mum who has taught me a lot about motherhood and life in general.

2- Recalling a moment shared with the tot at Eat cafe when a couple next to us were arguing constantly, and he turned round to me and said ‘mummy those two don’t like each other”

3-I made the best ever Egyptian version of mousakka the other day:)

4- Laughing at my tots reaction to the 4D Shrek experience today. He wasn’t too impressed with seeing flying dragons around him and was holding my hand throughout the whole experience. It was his first time using 4D glasses and probably the last. He even went to bed today saying, ”mummy I didn’t like that Shrek bus and I am never going on it again”.

5-Being told I am an awesome mummy by my friend the other day. True friends are hard to find but when you find them, they are keepers. My friends give me strength day after day with their kind and loving words of support. You guys are my rock.

I hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend. Tomorrows weather forecast is rain but that won’t stop me from a brunch fuelled with ricotta pancakes. Catch me on IG stories tomorrow.
