Can you guess the 5 things that made it to my January to do list?
I use January to start planning things I want to do over the next few weeks and months. January blues what? That doesn’t exist in my world. This is the first month of the year, a chance for a new start so let us all make it a great year by working towards our goals and being productive.

Who has written a New Years Resolution list? I have to admit, that this is the first year I haven’t actually written one. I am taking each day as it comes. I do have a few goals mentally in my bed and kind of know what I want to do over the next few months but haven’t documented anything down.
I have however started a ‘to do list’ of a few things I want to complete and I keep this list open so I can keep adding to it.
Here are a few things that made it to my ‘to do list’ for January.
1- Stock up on warm accessories
With it being crisp outside, it is a great time to start stocking up on warm and comfy socks, cozy pom pom hats ( my one seems to have taken a cold walk) and warm gloves. So raid your accessories draw, see what needs chucking out and what you need to buy. I do love the Ugg boots and gloves because the sheepskin lining keeps my extremities super warm.
2- Clean the pantry
It is a great time to raid the drawer and shelves and have a good tidy up. Throw away those half opened jar of spices that you have neglected. I am sure there are a few expired items hiding in your cupboards, so take everything out and wipe the shelves. I like using good old baby wipes for wiping off dust and dirt.
It is a great chance to clear out anything that makes it to the ‘unhealthy’ list and restock with healthy food.
3- Challenge yourself
I do love a good challenge. This could be anything from finishing a book, trying a new recipe, taking up a dance class that is out of your comfort zone or learning to drive a car. For me this month, I am going to try tap dancing. I am not sure if I will be good at it, or even if I will like it but I am giving it a go and taking the first step in buying tap dancing shoes. Sometimes the hardest part of taking up a challenge is taking the first step. Take that first step, and just have the positive mind set that you can do it.
4- Drinking at least two Litres of water a day.
Sometimes I get too buys with my day that I forget to hydrate myself which isn’t good. Your cells in your body need constant hydration for it to function so it is important to ensure you do drink around 2 Litres of water a day and it is great if you are detoxing too. You can set an alarm on your phone to beep every two hours as a reminder.
5- Write a daily journal
I have been thinking about this for a while and actually did start doing this and just stopped it so I am getting my mojo back and starting again with a daily journal. I am going to allocate 10 minutes at the end of the day to jot down my day. This helps me to mentally draw a close on the day and wake up fresh and ready the next day. It also acts as a de-stress activity for me. Try it, see how you feel after about a week.
Do any of these relate to you? Put your best foot forward, and let us start January right.
