Three easy cheat snacks for when you are craving something naughty

image (11)If you are anything like me and always have a jar of Nutella on stand by for when you want something sweet or need that bit of kick to get your energy levels back up or if you are simply just craving chocolate then these three cheat snacks are just what you need.

In actual fact Nutella was introduced as a healthy way to eat chocolate. It contains a ton of hazelnuts (help lower cholesterol, contain vitamins and minerals, particularly Vitamin E and dietary fibre) and fat reduced coco and a little milk so it is not all bad-only if your eat the whole jar!

In my world,  it really does rain Nutella ella ella. I literally have a couple of spoons in the morning, then on toast as a snack, later on in the day I might smear some on crackers and biscuits and finally later in the evening,  swallowing another couple of spoons before retiring to bed! And I might have chocolate croissant in between all that or oat flapjacks with dairy milk. Yep a lot of chocolate I know.

These three snacks will sure help you fight the naughtiness in you and prevent you from pigging out on junk-unless its PMT and you are excused!

1– Cucumber with yoghurt and feta topped with some dill.

Chop up some feta cheese and add to a couple of tablespoons of yoghurt. Cut up some cucumbers and dip them into your yoghurt mix. I use Greek yoghurt but any type will do.

2-Protein balls

For 2-3 balls, mix two tablespoons of oats with a 1/4 teaspoon of honey/agave syrup and one teaspoon of almond butter/peanut butter and one teaspoon of almond milk. Wet your hands and form round balls by rolling mixture on the palms of your hand. Oats give you slow release of energy keeping you satisfied for longer, plus it lowers your cholesterol and peanut butter is full of proteins and healthy fats.

3-Dark chocolate and raspberries

If you are a dark chocolate fan then you will love this! Don’t go crazy on the chocolate, a couple of squares and a handful of raspberries is more than enough. I like the M and S dark chocolate with a hint of rose!

Cacao is full of antioxidants and almonds are full of healthy fats which reduces the risk of heart disease and also helps to reduce risk of diabetes. Did you know research has shown that after an almond containing meal, the level of antioxidant in the blood increased and a reduction was seen in blood sugar levels:):)

Go on give these three snack treats a go. They are super easy and can be prepared in under 5 minutes!
