Nothing will fuel your body more than a hearty bowl of porridge. It tastes even better in the Winter months when all you want to eat is something hot and creamy to warm you up. It is definitely a good breakfast option if you feel like it will be a day of running around and you need an energy boost (you sure will burn all the carbs).The best thing about porridge is that you can virtually add anything you want on it from fruits to nuts and seeds to jam and even chocolate if you are really feeling naughty. If you want it chocolat-y, you could add raw cacao as a healthier option.
Here is a step by step method on how to make the perfect porridge.
1-Add your oats to a saucepan (I use around 40-50g)
2- Start with adding half a cup of milk of choice. I like to use coconut milk as it gives it a creamy taste and stir on low heat for about 4-5 minutes
3-Add a pinch of cinnamon, 2 teaspoon of maple syrup
4-Add more milk if you feel necessary and spoon onto your plate
5-I like to add everything to my oats, so here I used bananas, sunflower seeds and coconut flakes (my favourite) and sprinkled some chia seeds on top
