I am a huge meat lover so anything that contains  good old minced beef, has my vote:)

The best thing about this recipe is that you buy ready made wheat for the kibbeh! How awesome is that? So you just need to get the minced beef ready, which is easy peasy!

My bestie was over for lunch so I thought I might impress her a little! And for sure she was impressed thinking I had made everything from scratch! Erm, a single mum of a toddler…maybe not. Time is so precious to me these days! Ever feel like there is not enough hours in the day? I get this feeling everyday.

You can buy the wheat packet from any food store on Edgware road but if you are like me and avoid this area like the plague then any local supermarket should stock this.

250g of wheat for kibbeh

250g of minced beef

5 garlic cloves chopped

1 chopped onion and an extra half for the topping

salt and pepper for taste

chilli powder

1tbs of oil of choice

2tbs of flour

2tbs butter

1 egg

1-Soak the wheat in water for 2 hours before using

2-drain water and add wheat to the minced beef and mix

3-crack open your egg and add to the mixture along with the mixture along with the spices and flour

4-kneed together thoroughly and press into a tin

5-Fry your onions and place on top with a few knob of butter and cover tin with foil.

6-Cook in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about an hour or until the surface is golden brown

If you want to add that extra crunchy touch to it, you can sprinkle pine nuts along with the fried onions before you pop it in the oven.
