Why I love Mondays

For me Mondays are the best day of the week. I am very much a planner and like to generally know what I’m doing Monday to Friday and get all the dates in my diary. So for me when Monday kicks in, I have the “I’m ready for this week” kind of attitude and start planning my week ahead.

Nothing excites me more than getting my diary out and slotting in my tasks and to dos. I go all out with different coloured pens and highlighters taking me back to my school days #throwbacktoschoolmoment. Try it sometime, plan your week ahead on the Sunday/Monday and see how you feel on a Monday morning. Some of us may need a caffeine fix on a Monday morning for this to happen. I am not so much of a fan of caffeine everyday but I will get the odd Pret a manger coconut latte once of twice a week. I prefer to  wake up and drink a turmeric latte which I make myself. Turmeric is a great anti-inflammatory agent and natural one.

Here’s how I make mine.

-Boil and simmer, 1 cup of almond milk with half a teaspoon  of Turmeric, a pinch of cinnamon, a teaspoon of honey, a spoon of butter and some cloves. You can also add some all spice if you fancy.

A great way to start the day and it goes perfectly with a slice of bread in the morning. I often eat untoasted bread with butter and honey topped with some yoghurt and almonds.

Why I love Mondays

1- Set weekly goals

I generally set my weekly goals on a Monday and this helps me stay productive and motivated for the week. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have anything written for each day of the week, you can fill in blanks during the week. Or maybe you can use that day as a pamper day. Here’s a link to my favourite mask.

2-Nail conditioning

I try and stick to a weekly nail oil session. I have to admit, this doesn’t always happen but I’ve just started this routine so I’m hoping I will stick with it. I use OPI nail oil. What is your favourite one nail treatment?

3- Meat-free Monday

I’ve been instilling the five fruit and veg into my little one and I like to start the week with lots of fruit and veggies in my system. My favourite are kale, broccoli and spinach. Have you seen my quinoa and cauliflower balls? I find Sainsbury’s and Waitrose do the best veggies and love the little coconut chunks in Sainsbury’s. I find them more crunchier than M&S or Waitrose. They are the perfect on the go snack.

4-Update pharmacy knowledge

I like to read something new in pharmacy on a Monday. I stick with one day a week so I don’t forget to do it. So this could be something I see online or from the Pharmaceutical Journal.
