We all know that stress is bad for you right? Knowing that is the easy part, but how do we de-stress? How can we spare 5 minutes in the day to relax and carry out an activity to relax? Well you just do, you make time, no matter how busy you are. There are 24 hours in a day, all you need is 5 minutes.

Have a long hot soak

Nothing beats stress more than a long hot soak at the end of the day. Being a mum, I find it hard to find some me time, but it’s crucial to have time to yourself everyday even if it’s just 5 minutes to paint your nails. I love soaking in a hot bath listening to some music.

Go for a walk

This is a daily must, stressed or not. Go outside, smell the fresh air but don’t forget your factor 50 sunscreen. My Favourite is Bioderma which I’ve been using for years and it is great for problem skin.

Burn some candles.

My ultimate favourite are the Paul Costello living collection . There is just something about the smell of these that bring me peace. Burn some candles for five minutes, get your room smelling good and do some breathing exercises, focusing on your breathing in and out technique.


I find peace in cooking. You either love or you don’t. My favourite thing to make are protein balls and love making my spinach pizza base. Trust me, try these and you won’t eat regular pizza again.

Dark chocolate

I can put my hand up and admit that I am a dark chocolate addict but it’s a healthy addiction so I don’t feel so guilty. Have you tried my skinny dark chocolate bars? They are super delicious. I love dipping chocolate in green tea, my favourite stress buster.
