Travelling with the kids need not be a challenge if planned right. They say a holiday is never a holiday if you have kids in tow but I think that is down to how the kids behave. If you have mischievous little ones, then good luck. I have listed my top 5 kid friendly hotels in Milan.
Choosing the right hotel is crucial I say. Location, location, location! You need to factor this in when planning for a holiday in Milan.
I have picked out 5 hotels that would be perfect for a holiday in Milan with kids.
1- The Best Western Plus Hotel Galles
This hotel is situated right in front of the metro station so very ideal. Now with kids, there is nothing worse than being stuck in traffic in a taxi, sure its easier sometimes but being on a train and bus excites the kids so that is always my preferred travel option. Having said Milan is a multifaceted city which needs to be experienced, not just visited. The best way to do this is by walking in its streets and squares and discovering unexpected secret corners that delight and charm. This hotel is within walking distance of a lot of sites, with Duomo being a 15 minute walk. The spa and wellness centre is perfect for mums to have some time out indulgence time.
2-Grand Visconti Palace
This hotel is surrounded by a 2500m square garden so great for kids to have a run around. It offers luxury accommodation but at the same time is affordable. Their drapes and rugs are lush and the decor is something to get excited about. And wait for it… It features a great Turkish hot bath as well as a heated pool, wellness centre and spa and. Yup, great for us momas. They also offer childcare facilities.
3- Park Hyatt, Milan
If you are travelling with older children who don’t mind tagging along with you shopping then this hotel is for you. Set in the heart of the fashion district (oh yes), it is also 200 yards from the Cathedral and other sites. With kids, we are up early, and start the day early, that is one of the many advantages of travelling with kids. I was attracted to the spacious and luxurious rooms and fell in love with the marble look. A great all-rounder luxury hotel with fabulous nearby restaurants and shops to feast your eyes on.
4- Hotel Berna
Situated within 200 meters of the station, with tourist attraction sites easily accessible. In 2015 this hotel won the award for the best breakfast service. They offer a range for those with food intolerance (which you don’t always find), so great for kids. The reviews on this hotel are amazing, a great affordable hotel in the heart of Milan.
5-Four Seasons Hotel Milano
If you are after professionalism and high standards then this hotel gets 5 stars. They offer an exceptional spa service to die for. Their suites are out of this world overlooking which reflects the hotels architectural heritage and overlooks a private garden. They cater very well for kids from the facilities to breakfast and travel arrangements. You just cant go wrong with Four Seasons really.
That is my top 5 picks. Where have you stayed in Milan? My choice? The Four Seasons probably as I always have the best experience here. From Egypt to Jordan, Florence, Dubai, Egypt and London Hampshire. I had a lovely mummy brunch here one year which was an unforgettable experience.
